Randomness – 01/12/08

I’ve decided to start posting my random/miscellaneous thoughts, words, and deeds.  I’m copying off of other people, some of who call these posts “Links” and some “Unloading the Pending File” or something like that, lol.

  • I got to start going back to school on the 14th of this month. Got another heavy load this semester… sigh. Any logic for the existence of a $160 Business Law book, lol?
  • Been playing an awesome game for my PC called “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.” I find it quite interesting that the game itself seems to be anti-war through use of various quotes before and after gameplay sequences. (And yes, it’s ironic that I, an anti-war person, am playing a war game, lol). Online, I’m a Brigadier General (1 Star)… and it took a lot of playing time to get that high up.
  • It’s also weird that I have another war game called World in Conflict, which is basically an alternative version of a “what if” of the Cold War… ultimately, its WWIII.
  • I’ve had the movie “300″ sitting in my DVD player for 2 months and still haven’t watched it yet… what’s wrong with me?
  • I’m currently reading “The Shaping of Things to Come” by Michael Frost. It’s more of the same stuff I’ve already been exposed to. It’s the same stuff basically covered in his most recent book.
  • Speaking of that book, the more emerging church books I read, the more I realize I already understand the movement, and that I waste my time reading personalized rehashes by different authors.
  • I’m also reading “Constitution in Exile” by Judge Andrew Napolitan. He slaughters all the sacred cows in this book: Abraham Lincoln, FDR, George W. Bush. But hey, they’ve broken laws and destroyed our freedoms… it’s about time someone hold them up to responsibility. It’s also nice to see the truth of how our constitution and rights have been undermined over the years.
  • I’ve been sleeping a lot lately… like 10 hours a day. It’s GREAT!!!
  • I watched the Fox News (Faux News as I call them) debate in SC the other night. I don’t like Huckabee, but I felt bad for him that night. Karl Cameron asked him some pretty dumb and irrelevant questions. Even worse, they showed particular disdain for Ron Paul, my candidate. Ron Paul wiped the floor with their faces though, so, that was cool. Sean Hannity and Frank Luntz are @#^&$&*# by the way. [The symbols mean whatever your imagination can dream of... mine couldn't think of anything hardcore enough to fit these guys].
  • Gold hit $900 an ounce today. How I wish gold currently backed our paper dollars instead of… well… nothing.
  • And…. finally… next comes the most semi-important, semi-serious, semi-retarded post:
  • I wonder if I should become a politician one day. I won’t kiss anyone’s butt, and I’m going to stick by my principles (principles which aren’t currently too popular). So, that almost virtually guarantees I’ll never be elected. Besides, I don’t even know anyone to help me get on that track. I’d have to be mayor, then representative, then senator, then governor, and then I could run for president (and bring the Republican party back to its roots I might add :) . It’s a shame that it’s so hard for the common man, who usually has the most sense anyway, to get into elected office. But, on the other hand, running things once in office isn’t a walk in the park. I don’t know, it just seems too hard to make change in this country, especially when everything works against you, haha. I close with shameless sloganeering, “Go Ron Paul, 2008″
